So whats next @ Accelerate

So now whats going to be done for the concept via the various future blogs? Well I know reading is one of the most boring forms of gaining knowledge and hence I would not like to write about any topic that I want to talk about, instead would just like to introduce it. Frankly I am not sure about what am I going to write or what topics am I going to include but I have the belief that in order to wirte something I will have to read something and hence would learn something new ( btw for those who dont know, "Accelerate" is much beyond blogging -> and in fact we have had a workshop on the concept, a free seminar and will very recently have a club). So let the endeavour begin......

About Accelerate

So, now i guess its time I am more clear about what "Accelerate" is all about. Accelerate in a lay man's language means the change of speed per unit time, more appropriately the rate of change of velocity. Anyways, no need to break your heads over these: This one has the same meaning yet different. Our Accelerate is a start towards improvement, an initiation towards change, its an offset to gain exposure,an origination to learn more, its an effort to make all those interested self-sufficient and curious enough to help themselves throughout their lives. Its a continuous process to generate interest in day-to-day science and to spread awareness about some of the must-dos. "Accelerate" is about knowing yourself, realizing your strengths and weaknesses, about capitalizing on your strengths and eliminating your weaknesses. Its about being able to define success and living up for it. Last but not the least - It is about seeing yourself as a winner at all times.

The start of Accelerate

Everything said and done - But how am I to give all that I want to all those who want to get it without finding those students. So this was the most challenging thing for me. Though I am not that bad at marketing but the challenge was to make everyone understand about the concept. 'Coz the summer workshop word gave a complete different impression and I was asked questions like where was I going to take the students for the camp, and the word "accelerate" was beyond the understanding of the common man. My aim was to cover as many students from my area and give them the benefit. So went to the different classes and tutions and explained my concept to the teachers and how it will help their students. Got a great response from the teachers and allowed me to interact with the students. It was a completely different experience for me and thats when i realized how lucky I was to get the exposure and the awareness of the different aspects of the present world. Most of the students I came across just did not knowanything. So it became very difficult to be appealing to the mass. "Accelerate" was not speeding up :(

The Concept - Accelerate

So now with the name ready, I was determined that nothing can stop me now. But why did "Accelerate" mean so much to me? Because it matches with the concept of the workshop - to enable students increase their speed of growing. The main content of the workshop was planned. The intention was to help students in competing with the outside world. It is about going beyond studies. It is about learning, growing and winning . Accelerate is about education beyond books and exams. It is about realizing one's creativity, to encourage to think and more improtantly to stress on the implementation of their thoughts. It is about expanding horizons and earning exposure. "Accelerate" is about accelerating!

The Idea - ACCELERATE

28th April 2009, Tuesday: Had been thinking since two days about what all to include in the summer workshop, what should be its name, how will i get the students and prior to that WILL i get students? So 2 hectic days of thinking and designing the first outline of the workshop. Designed a leaflet, revisited it, revised it and redesigned it. Finally I had it ready in my laptop, microsoft office word 2007, my first ever real time project but still nameless. Asked my Special Friends for suggestions for the names and even got few of the kind: Kreative Kidz, Summer Hungama, Vacation Bonanza etc. All very appealing and attractive but somehow just didnot click. And then suddenly, out-of-the-blue the word
"ACCELERATE" and then everything just fell into places.

the birth of ACCELERATE

26th April 2009, Sunday: Exams were just over and me along with my friends were going back home in Jamnagar Intercity - A.C. chaircar (well travelling in A.C. does mean a lot to us). It was then when we were discussing our vacation plans. Industrial Training, Playing Cricket, Reading Books, Learning new softwares would have been my answer would i have been asked. These may seem fair enough many activities to spend the time, also taking in account the amount of time I waste at home and with friends, but still it did'nt satisfy me. And thats when i decided to help mom with her tuition students and taking up a crash course for students and hence spend time and even end-up earning a few bucks. Then i quite forgot the idea by the time i reached home in the excitement of going home after almost one and half month. After relaxing and eating ghar-ka-khana when i was telling mom about my plans, she suddenly started telling about her students and the problems faced by them. Then is when the first bricks of "Accelerate" were laid and a normal crash-course plan gave way to a full-fledged Summer Workshop
